i just want to share my incidents on the bus for the last few days.
sometimes i wonder why people are choose to be oblivious to their surroundings by refusing to offer seats to those who need them. it's quite sad cos there some people are able bodied, enjoying the comfort of sitting down and there they are, a group of people who can barely support themselves on the jerky bus ride.
on that morning to school, i had a seat on the bus. at this paricular stop, a lady who is holding onto something like hand held crutch board the bus. my seat was considered quite near the end of the bus. and the bus was super crowded and squeezy. so when i saw her standing in front of me, i immediately offer my seat to her. i was then wondering how could a large group of people sitting in front of me be so ignorant of this poor lady? she was very and i really mean very grateful to me. it makes me happy cos doing such a simple act can make someone so touched. not trying to publise i'm a very kind person or what, but it just irks me when people arent considerate at all to offer the seat.
the day before, i offer a seat to a small little girl. then, i was sitting even further on the bus.
i dont understand. does it takes a lot of effort to offer a seat? why are some people so selfish and unthoughful at all? it's sad to see people being less abled than us and it's even saddening to see people who couldnt care less. i understand how difficult it must be for the lady with the crutch. i admire her for the courage to take the bus despite her inconvenience.
hmm. just some thoughts for the week. happy national day everyone! and remember a simple act can make someone's day =) when you help others, you are happier too.
certainly, we need a more thoughtful society.
