your light will shine when all else fades

was talking with the girls the other day bout the education system and i feel that it seems to be quite a controversial topic.
personally, i find the education system rather taxing and cruel to students. i mean learning sure is a joyous process when you have the chance to learn about the sciences and math of things around us, the languages we communicate with one another in and the arts that are supposed to bring out the vibrancy of life. but it ended up that we're learning things in a particular way to suit the system, to answer questions in a definite way to score in examinations and some things we learn are just incomplete or wrong.
and the examinations and way of assessment is very stressful too. high scorers are a norm nowadays and to be distinguished from the rest, one need to really EXCEL and perform well. no matter how much people say that the emphasis has shifted away from examinations these days, the reality is has it really shifted?
we sure have a holistic education with ccas and activities going on around. but how nice would it be to reduce the emphasis we placed on examinations?
i'm sure different people have different capabilitites and not everyone can perform well in exams. so for those who don't, there's really still hope out there. cos i dont believe that succeeding in life you need results only. however clinche it may seems, we still need the interpersonal skills and most importantly a good heart.
but it turns out at the end of the day, we still have to study and take exams no matter how we hate it, how much we complain about it and how much we fear it cos that's always the phrase which says "it's for your own good."
oh well, i hope to see some goodness in years to come.
we'll make it through A's.
-god bless-
